Deus Ex Machina

🔚 Deus Ex Machina is a puzzle-platformer where you play as the "god in the machine", drawing and manipulating arrows to guide a robot through treacherous industrial levels. Guide the machine. Become the god. The game features a robot/player character that auto-walks through levels, and you must strategically place directional arrows (with limited resources) to navigate spikes, gaps, and obstacles. The title plays on the Latin phrase deus ex machina—literally "god from the machine"—referencing both the player's omniscient role in manipulating the game world and the industrial/robotic theme. ## How to Play - Left-click to draw an arrow - Left-click an arrow to rotate it - Some levels limit the number of arrows you can place - Right-click to erase a block - Some blocks are permanent - Avoid the spikes - Reach the orb to win - Press "R" to restart the level ## Credits - Victor H (Music Composer): https://vhsm3.itch.io/ - Mark (Programmer): https://github.com/remarkablemark - 16x16 Industrial Tileset: https://0x72.itch.io/16x16-industrial-tileset - Kenney Interface Sounds: https://kenney.nl/assets/interface-sounds - Menu SFX Pack: https://hitrison.itch.io/menu-sfx-pack - Typewriter Machine: https://pixabay.com/sound-effects/film-special-effects-typewriter-machine-64191/

Slime Planet Eater

You are a translucent slime the size of a small animal, and the planet under you is covered in things bigger than you are. Roll over the grass and swallow it. Then the flowers, then the fence, then the sheep that was ignoring you a minute ago. Every bite makes you heavier, and every kilogram of mass moves the edge of what you can eat a little further out. There is nothing to fail. No timers, no enemies, no currency to manage. A building too large to swallow simply pushes back and bends you around it, until it does not. The pleasure is watching the scale of the world turn over: the tree that filled your screen becomes a snack, the car becomes a crumb, the skyscraper becomes the next goal. Clear one planet and the galaxy map opens the next, each with its own look, its own skyline and its own ladder of things to devour. Hats, trails and skins are yours to collect along the way, purely so your slime looks the way you want while it eats a world. How to play: hold the left mouse button and drag where you want to roll, or use WASD and the arrows. On a phone, touch the screen and drag; the slime follows your finger. Everything else is automatic.

Hextris

Hextris is a fast-paced puzzle game where colored blocks fall from the edges of the screen toward a central hexagon, and you rotate that hexagon to catch them on its six faces. When three or more blocks of the same color touch each other on adjacent faces or stacked on the same face, they disappear and everything above slides down. Let any stack grow past the outer grey hexagon boundary and it's over. The core mechanic is deceptively simple: blocks fall, you rotate left or right, colors match and clear. But the speed ramps quickly, and the six-sided geometry means you're managing six independent stacks simultaneously while blocks rain in from every direction. You have to think about where each color is building up, which face has room, and whether rotating to catch an incoming block will accidentally bury a color you were about to clear somewhere else. It's the Tetris problem of "I need this piece but not here" multiplied across six faces at once. Combos are where the scoring gets interesting. Clear multiple color groups in quick succession and a combo timer appears as a receding outline around the outer hexagon. Chain clears within that window and your score multiplies. High-level play is about setting up chain reactions, intentionally letting colors stack in ways that cascade into multi-clear combos when you finally trigger them. Created by a group of high school students from Boston at a hackathon and refined over three months, Hextris hit #1 on Hacker News, trended on GitHub, and became one of those games people pass around in browser tabs at work. It's built entirely in JavaScript on the HTML5 Canvas, runs in any browser, and is fully open source under the GPL license. No ads, no monetization, no installs. The flat UI design is clean and readable even at high speed, which matters when you're spinning a hexagon and tracking four incoming blocks at once. FEATURES ∙ Rotate a hexagon to catch falling colored blocks on six faces ∙ Match 3+ same-colored blocks to clear them ∙ Chain clears for combo multipliers ∙ Escalating speed keeps every session intense ∙ Clean flat UI designed for readability at high speed ∙ Runs in any browser, no install required
