Do you need a box spring with a bed frame?

As for other bed frames, the need will depend on the specific frame as well as your mattress. Be sure to check manufacturer recommendations for both your mattress and bed frame —failing to use a box spring or foundation when recommended can lead to harm of your mattress.Purple mattresses are not compatible with traditional box springs, but in the cases where an additional box spring or foundation is required, we’ve engineered the Flat Foundation: our answer to noisy, bulky, difficult-to-store box springs of the past.Please note, adjustable bases are not compatible with box springs or foundations.

Can I attach a headboard to my bed frame? If so, how?

Before purchasing a headboard, be sure it will fit your frame. Do this by locating any bolt or screw holes made for struts on the back of your bed frame and measuring the distance between them. Additionally, consider a headboard’s width and height to ensure a proportional fit. As a general rule: your headboard should match the width of your bed frame (or be no more than 3 inches wider) and shouldn’t extend more than 14 inches above the top of your mattress (especially for a twin-size bed). The Purple Upholstered Bed Frame comes with a headboard and every accessory needed to easily attach. The headboard is also compatible with the Purple Upholstered Platform but sold separately. Please note that the Purple Upholstered Platform is not compatible with most standard headboards. Purple’s adjustable bases are compatible with most standard headboards — simply call customer service to purchase compatible headboard brackets, sold separately.

The Upholstered Platform and Upholstered Bed Frame include 5-year warranties, while all adjustable bases, the Purple Metal Platform and Purple Flat Foundation include 10-year limited warranties covered by Ergomotion.
