A merchandise return card (MRC) is issued during non-receipted returns for Target products in store. Funds for the non-receipted return are loaded onto the provided card. A government issued ID is required for issuance.
A card that's issued in-store only for the following reasons (and can only be used in stores): Approved non-receipted returns.

This merchandise return card can be redeemed for merchandise or services (other than gift cards and prepaid cards) at Target stores. This card cannot be redeemed on Target.com or for cash or credit (except where required by law). The card value cannot be transferred to another merchandise return card, gift card or prepaid card. Card funds do not expire. If you presented a government issued ID when we issued this card to you, we may require you to present the same valid ID to redeem this card. This card is not transferrable. This card may be rejected or deactivated if fraud, stolen goods or abuse is suspected. You will receive a different merchandise return card if you make a new return. Redemption limited to one merchandise return card per transaction.
Keep the receipt you received with this card. The original receipt is required to replace a lost or stolen card. For balance information, bring this card to any cashier in a Target store. Balance information not available online or over the phone.
