Feminine nouns that begin with a stressed "a-" or "ha-" sound in Spanish use the articles "el" and “un” in the singular.
el hada()
A feminine noun is almost always used with feminine articles and adjectives (e.g., la mujer bonita, la luna llena).
La viejecita le dijo a la niña que en realidad era un hada con poderes mágicos.The little old lady told the girl that she was really a fairy with magical powers.
Con un toque de su varita, el hada hizo desaparecer al príncipe.With a touch of her wand, the fairy made the prince disappear.
