High Value Target
A CIA analyst faces a dangerous hunt as conflict and threats escalate.
Inspired by true events, Watch It’s first international co-production is a large-scale project filmed entirely in Egypt, transforming Cairo into Baghdad in 2003.
Quick take: Taking audiences inside one of the most high-profile interrogations in recent history, High Value Target is based on the real transcripts of CIA analyst John Nixon, published in his book Debriefing the President: The Interrogation of Saddam Hussein. The eight-episode show reconstructs the tense psychological stand-off between the deposed Iraqi leader and the American intelligence officers, offering an unprecedented window into his mindset and his regime’s inner workings.
What we love: The international line-up, with prominent Hollywood names sharing the screen with standout Arab talent. Joel Kinnaman steps into the shoes of Nixon while Waleed Zuaiter portrays Hussein. They’re joined by Christopher McDonald, Dar Salim, Mohamed Gomaa and Hisham Ashour.
