What we love: Bookly really wants you to read more, and it has an excellent Discover Books section on its Assistant tab. This recommends existing and up-and-coming titles with wit and style, offering quirky categories such as “End of the world, but make it hot” and “Weird little books”.

Quick tip: Install Bookly on your device even if you’re running it on your desktop. That way, you can scan books’ barcodes with your camera to automatically add them to your collection. It’s a big time saver if, like us, you’ve got a lot of books to track.

Meet the creator: TwoDoor Games is a small, independent games studio based in Arad County, Romania. Its founder, Iancu Tudor, was after a way to read more effectively, but couldn’t find an app that did what he wanted – so he made one, launching Bookly in 2016.
